FACEBOOK LAUNCH OUTSIDE FACT CHECKER TO TACKLE FAKE NEWS ON THEIR PLATFORM






Facebook have now partnered with the likes of fact check, snopes, politifact and ABC news in fighting against fake news which are been uploaded on Facebook by its users.


Facebook will now work with fact checking services in which if a story is confirmed to be fake,they notify Facebook through a reporting website designed to report cases on fake new by Facebook ,and will also include details of information or links confirming the articles as fake.Whereas if the publisher of the article then disagree with their label on his story,he/she will have to use the third-party option.

Even though it was confirmed that this services wont be receiving any payment from Facebook but it will surely boost the brand  and traffic to  those website from the debunk post news.

When asked why the services will do the fact-checking for free;
"we've been met with a lot of positive,what we're doing, we believe is aligned with their mission " mosseri says.


Moreover Facebook have made it easier for its users to share fake news on it's platform by using the top right corner drop-down menu on News feed.
Confirming the news,Facebook founder,Mark Zuckerberg on his page wrote;
"Facebook  is a new platform different from anything before it. I think of Facebook as a tech company,but i recognize we have greater responsibility than just building   tech that information flow through,while we don't write news and stories you read and share.We also recognize we're more than just a distributor of news.We're a new kind of platform for public discourse and that mean we have a new kind of responsibility to enable people to have most meaningful conversation and to build a space where people can be informed"
